The Department of Finance Banking and Insurance consists of two programs under the names «Bankacılık ve Sigortacılık Programı» and «Maliye Programı».
The programs of the Department of Finance Banking and Insurance started associate degree education in the 2009-2010 academic year.
In the department where 6 teaching staff work, 365 students are being educated.
Graduates are entitled to receive an “Associate Degree Diploma” with the titles of “Finance Bank Professional Staff” and “Finance Professional Staff”.
The aim of the Department of Finance Banking and Insurance is to train experts equipped with knowledge and skills in economy, accounting, law, tax, and marketing, in addition to the professional basic information needed by the sector.
Thus, businesses that need personnel in areas requiring expertise will be able to employ our graduates directly without the need for a separate training and orientation program.
In the department, education is provided in business, accounting, management and organization, economy, law, financial markets and institutions, insurance transactions, capital markets, and entrepreneurship.
Our education period consists of 2(two) years and 4(four) semesters. Teaching is conducted for 14 weeks per semester and a total of 56 weeks. Each of our students must complete a Mandatory Internship Work consisting of 30 working days.
Those who will apply to the programs in the Department of Finance Banking and Insurance should be disciplined, interested in the economy, finance, and banking, responsible, and have strong communication skills.
Students studying in the Finance and Banking department learn the basic concepts of the sector, its management, types of businesses, management functions, the structure of the Turkish legal system, and issues of income, money, banking, and growth in the country.
This department teaches students how financial systems work, how banks are managed, and the duties of professionals working in the finance sector. At the same time, this department offers students a wide range of knowledge and skills, including topics such as financial markets, accounting, and finance.
Graduates of the Banking and Insurance program can work in all kinds of financial institutions, especially banks, in the headquarters and agencies of insurance companies, and if they wish, they can also open their own insurance agencies. They can work as managers and experts in the management, accounting, and finance units of public and private sector companies.
Those who complete their undergraduate education can work as Inspectors, independent auditors, certified public accountants (CPA), Research specialists, investment advisors, Real estate appraisal experts, Internal control unit staff, Portfolio managers, Corporate finance specialists, Derivative instruments personnel, and Credit rating specialists.
Graduates of the Finance program, can work in State Economic Enterprises, local administrations, the central and provincial organizations of the Ministry of Finance, Revenue Offices, and other public institutions' budget and revenue-related units, in the financial units of private sector organizations, or in accounting offices as sworn financial advisors, certified public accountants, and accountants.
Additionally, after completing the necessary education and internships, they can open their own offices and work with the title of Certified Public Accountant or those who complete their undergraduate education can work with the title of financial advisor.
It is mandatory to complete a 30 working day internship to graduate from the Finance Banking and Insurance Program and the Finance Program.
Students of the department can do internships in accounting and finance departments of businesses under the supervision and audit of financial advisors and sworn financial advisors, in banks, in the accounting departments of municipalities, in insurance companies, and in the accounting departments of professional chambers established by law.
Our students have the right to complete their undergraduate education by transferring to the third year of the Open Education Faculty without an exam if they wish.
Students who want to complete their 4-year education after graduating from the program have the opportunity to make vertical transfers to many departments and faculties with the vertical transfer exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM. Among these departments are
